The rules in this chapter implement the Texas Oral Health Improvement Act, Health and Safety Code, Chapter 43 (Act). The Act authorizes the Department of State Health Services (department) to provide treatment benefits for eligible individuals; oral disease prevention services; and oral health promotion and education. The Act also provides for administration of the program which includes dental surveillance activities.
