Section 1. General Requirements. No license by exemption shall be issued until the applicant has provided satisfactory evidence to the Board that;
Section 2. Clinical Social Worker. In addition to the requirements established in Section 1, applicants for licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by exemption must also meet the following criteria:
Section 3. Marriage and Family Therapist. In addition to the requirements established in Section 1, applicants for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist by exemption must also meet the following criteria:
Section 4. Addictions Therapist. In addition to the requirements established in Section 1, applicants for licensure as an Addictions Therapist by exemption must also meet the following criteria:
(ii) The applicant holds a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field and has accumulated education and/or training in addictions therapy equivalent to seventy-eight (78) points. A minimum of two (2) points must be relative to professional ethics, or
(iii) The applicant has accumulated education and/or training in addictions therapy equivalent to one hundred seventy-six (176) points. A minimum of two (2) points must be relative to professional ethics.
(iv) Points shall be awarded as follows:
(A) One (1) semester credit equals one (1) point.
(B) Fifteen (15) workshop hours equals one (1) point.
(C) One (1) year of full time related work experience equals twelve (12) points. Points will be awarded for partial year or part time employment on a prorated basis.
(D) Passing the WAAS level III exam equals two (2) points.
(E) Passing the NCAC level II exam equals three (3) points.
(F) Passing the NCAC level I exam equals two (2) points.
(b) The applicant has five (5) years of experience practicing in the field of addictions therapy.
Section 5. Professional Counselor. In addition to the requirements established in Section 1, applicants for licensure as a Professional Counselor by exemption must also meet the following criteria:
(a) The applicant has satisfied the education requirement established in Chapter 3, Section 2(a); or
(b) The applicant has received a master's or doctorate degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education, which is clinical in content, and has at least two (2) years of verifiable supervised clinical experience; or
(c) The applicant has received a master's or doctorate degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education, which is clinical in content, and has passed the required exam as established in Chapter 3, Section 5(a) and (b).
