Section 1. Statement of Purpose. The Wyoming State Board of Physical Therapy Rules and Regulations are set forth and promulgated for the purpose of interpreting and implementing W.S. 33-25-101 through 33-25-115 et seq., establishing the Board and conferring upon it the responsibility for licensing physical therapists and physical therapist assistants and regulating the practice of physical therapy in the State.
Section 2. Severability. If any provisions of these rules or the application thereof to any licensee or circumstance is invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or application of these rules which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of these rules are declared to be severable.
Section 3. Terms Defined by Statute. Terms defined in the Act shall have the same meaning when used in these rules unless the context or subject matter clearly requires a different interpretation.
Section 4. Definitions.
“Act” means W.S. 33-25-101 et seq.
“APTA” means the American Physical Therapy Association.
“ASI” means Assessment Systems Incorporated.
(d) 'Authority” means a written statement approving and giving permission to initiate and implement a physical therapy program to an individual or group from a physician or other qualified practitioner having a patient relationship with that individual or group.
“Board” means the Wyoming State Board of Physical Therapy.
(f) 'Direct Supervision” means that a licensed physical therapist provides authoritative and procedural guidance for the rendering of the services with initial direction and periodic inspection of the actual act and is on the premises during the time that the activity is performed subject to the supervision.
“FSBPT” means Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy.
“Official custodian” means the Secretary-Treasurer of the Wyoming State Board of Physical Therapy.
“PES” means Professional Examination Service.
“Practitioner” means a physician, dentist, or podiatrist duly licensed in any jurisdiction.
“State” means the State of Wyoming.
(l) 'Supervision” means that a physical therapist licensed in Wyoming or other qualified practitioner provides procedural guidance for the rendering of the services with initial direction and periodic review. The supervisor will be available at all times to the supervisee by telephone.
