Section 1. Authority. Section 23-1-302 Wyoming Statutes.
Section 2. Definitions. For the purpose of this regulation, definitions will be as set forth in Title 23, Wyoming Statutes.
Section 3. Hunting Seasons Established and Effective Date. There will be a special hunting season for game animals causing damage to crops, livestock and other property, from January 1 through December 31, as established under Section 4 through Section 9 of this regulation. This regulation shall remain in effect until modified or rescinded by the Commission.
Section 4. Supervision of Hunters. Hunting will be done under the supervision of Wyoming Game and Fish Department personnel.
Section 5. Establishment of Areas. The Chief Game Warden shall verify and determine the extent of alleged damage and shall, with the written consent of the District Commissioner and landowners involved, designate the area to be opened to hunting, the number of hunters allowed to participate, the number, sex and species of animals to be taken, the dates of the season and if hunting will be done with firearms or archery equipment.
Section 6. Application, Selection of Hunters and Priorities.
a. Application must be made to District offices in the district where participation is desired.

b. Applicants must apply annually to be included on priority lists.
c. Applicants must make separate application for each species.
d. Name placement on each list will be established by first come-first served, if numbers of applications do not exceed numbers of licenses to be issued, otherwise name placement will be by public drawing.
e. Priority lists will be established by public drawings held at such time as it is deemed necessary to open a depredation hunting season, if the number of applicants exceeds the number of licenses to be issued. If sufficient applications are not on file to create a priority list, licenses will be sold on a first come, first served basis in the area where said depredation season is held. If priority lists are depleted before the end of the season, a new list may be established.
f. If an individual cannot be contacted, the next individual on the list will be notified and those who could not be contacted will retain their positions on the priority list. An individual may decline participation one time and remain in the same position on the priority list. Upon declining a second time, their names will be removed from the list.
g. Individuals who participate in the seasons and are unsuccessful may remain on the list, but may not participate in the seasons again until all others on the priority list have had an opportunity to hunt.
Section 7. Licensing. Licenses for game animals will be available to successful applicants and must be obtained prior to participating in any hunt under this regulation.
Section 8. Bag Limits. Any animal taken under this regulation will be in addition to the bag limit established by general Commission regulations for elk, deer, antelope, bison, black bear and mountain lion, and participation in any season for those species under this regulation will not deny an individual the privilege of hunting in a general hunting season. Any moose, sheep, mountain goat or grizzly bear taken under this regulation will be subject to statutory limitations as defined by W.S. 23-7-703(b). The bag limit for any one person participating in the depredation hunting seasons shall not exceed more than one game animal of each species during any one year.
Section 9. General Regulations. General regulations and statutes governing shooting hours, legal firearms and archery equipment will apply to this regulation.
