COURSE OF STUDY
Section 1. Course of Study for Cosmetology Students. The educational program of all schools shall include no less than ten and one half (10 1/2) months of study and no less than two thousand (2000) hours for a complete cosmetologist course.
(a) One thousand nine hundred and twenty-five (1925) hours shall consist of the following minimum training requirements and shall include related theory:

Total Hours required are 1925 plus the 75 discretionary hours for a Total of 2000.
(d) If any hours are accomplished outside the school premises, they must be acquired under supervision or guidance of an instructor and supporting documents must be made available if requested by the Board.
Section 2. Course of Study for Hairstyling. The educational program of all schools shall include no less than seven and one half (7 1/2) months of study and no less than twelve hundred and fifty hours (1250 hrs) for a complete hairstylist course.
One thousand two hundred hours (1225) shall consist of the following minimum training requirements and shall include related theory:

Client protection, proper sanitation and disinfection should be taught and utilized as necessary (according to the Wyoming Law and manufacturers directions)
The course of training for the remaining 25 hrs. shall be at the discretion of the school to determine and may include as many as 10 hrs of instruction by individuals other than Cosmetology Instructors where such instruction may serve to enrich the education program offered.
If any hours are accomplished outside the school premises, they must be acquired under supervision or guidance of an instructor and supporting documents must be made available if requested by the Board.
Section 3. Course of Study for Student Instructor. Any course offered to student instructors shall consist of at least one thousand (1000) hours of instruction and shall have a curriculum which provides for the following:
(i) Laws and rules governing cosmetology (j) Student supervision, not to exceed five hundred (500) hours supervising students in the clinic area
Section 4. Course of Study for Manicuring/Nail Technician Students. The education program for all manicuring/nail technician students shall include no less than four hundred (400) hours for a complete manicurist/nail technician course.
(a) Three hundred seventy-five (375) hours shall consist of the following minimum training requirements and shall include related theory.

(b) The course of training for the remaining twenty-five (25) hours shall be at the discretion of the school to determine and may include all (25) hours of instruction by individuals other than cosmetology instructors where such instruction may serve to enrich the educational program offered.
(c) If any hours are accomplished outside the school premises, they must be acquired under the supervision or guidance of an instructor and be made available if requested by the Board.
Section 5. Course of Study for Esthetician Students. The educational program for all esthetician students shall include no less than six hundred (600) hours for a complete skin care course.
(a) Five Hundred Sixty (560) hours shall consist of the following minimum training requirements and shall include related theory.

Total Hours required are 560 plus the 40 discretionary hours for a Total of 600.

Section 6. Credit Allowed When Transferring from One Course to Another. A student registered for a hairstyling, manicuring/ nail technician or esthetician course, or a licensed hairstylist, manicurist/ nail technician or esthetician may transfer to or enroll in a full cosmetologist course with full credit of applicable hours. A student enrolled as a cosmetology student may transfer only course specific hours to hairstyling, manicuring/nail technology or esthetics course and the transfer hours must be approved by the board.
