SANITATION
Section 1. Display of Rules and Notices. Every salon and school shall post a copy of the sanitation rules in a conspicuous location in the place of business. The most recent inspection notice shall be posted with the rules.
Section 2. Display of Licenses. Licenses must be displayed either at work stations or in the patron waiting area.
Section 3. Inspections. All salons and schools shall be open to inspection any time during normal business hours to authorized representatives of the Board.

(d) All refuse shall be deposited in suitable receptacles, provided with lids. Lids shall be kept in place at all times. All refuse shall be disposed of in a manner so as not to be unsightly or offensive, or a menace to health. Haircuttings shall be swept up and properly disposed of after each haircut.
(e) No dogs, cats, birds or animals of any kind shall be allowed on premises designated as a salon or school. Seeing eye, guide, or therapy dogs for impaired persons are permitted.
(f) All combs and brushes, including those used for air/blow drying, shall be sanitized after each use and sanitized combs and brushes of all types shall be provided for each patron. Procedure: Remove hair from implements, wash with soap and water, rinse, immerse in wet sanitizer for the time specified by the manufacturer, rinse, store in dry sanitizer. After each use combs and brushes shall be placed in a separate container maintained exclusively for soiled articles.
(g) All sanitized tools, instruments and towels shall be stored in closed, dry cabinets or containers.
(h) All preparations shall be stored, handled and applied in such a manner as to be protected from contamination. Creams shall be removed from containers with a clean spatula, powders shall be dispensed from shaker top containers and liquid preparations shall be dispensed from an atomizer or applicator bottle. Multiple use of puffs, sponges and makeup brushes is prohibited, and the use of styptic pencils is prohibited.
(i) A wet sanitizer is a container large enough that all articles placed in it are completely immersed in the sanitizing solution. At least one such sanitizer shall be provided in all salons and schools. It shall be cleaned and the solution changed daily. (j) Metal instruments, implements and glass electrodes shall be sanitized with an EPA registered, hospital grade, bactericidal, virucidal and fungicidal disinfectant.
(k) A clean neck strip and/or towel shall be provided for each patron. Shampoo capes and comb out capes shall not come in direct contact with the skin of the patron.
(l) Manicure implements and table shall be sanitized after use for each patron with an EPA registered, hospital grade, bactericidal, virucidal and fungicidal disinfectant. Table drawers and cabinets shall be kept clean and free of debris. Cotton shall be stored in covered container. All preparations shall be dispensed in accordance with subsection (h) of this section. All reusable articles that come in contact with a clients skin and nail shall be cleaned and effectively disinfected after each use or must be disposed of.
(m) Shampoo bowls shall be sanitized after each use with an approved sanitizer. Sanitizer must be kept on back bar in spray pump or applicator bottle.
(n) Coffee and other refreshments shall be served in single use containers only.
(o) No person infected by a disease in a communicable form, which can be transmitted in the course of his employment, shall work in a salon or school. Licensees shall not treat, or attempt to treat any disease of the skin. All licensees and students shall be neat and clean and wear washable attire.
