Transportation Code, §361.282, authorizes the Texas Department of Transportation to transfer a turnpike project to certain entities if approved by the Texas Transportation Commission and the governor. Transportation Code, §362.0041, authorizes the Texas Transportation Commission under certain circumstances to convert a non-toll segment of the state highway system to a Texas Department of Transportation turnpike project. This subchapter prescribes the policies and procedures governing commission approval of the transfer of a turnpike project or the conversion of a non-toll segment of the state highway system to a turnpike project.
