The purpose of this subchapter is to provide for a state acknowledgment program that allows the department to acknowledge donations for certain highway-related services such as ground maintenance identified as mowing, litter and debris pick-up on the state's right-of-way, and maintenance services for safety rest areas, Travel Information Centers, and toll gantry facilities with federally approved acknowledgment signs in the state right-of-way.
