1. (a) A school may have a director of education. The Commission shall grandfather schools from meeting the director of education requirements contained in this section for a particular director of education provided that the school has submitted the application for approval of the director of education to the Commission prior to the effective date of this section and the application results in approval by the Commission.

2. (b) If the school employs a director of education, the director shall meet the same qualifications as an instructor and, in addition, shall have:

   1. (1) one year of employment as a postsecondary instructor;
   2. (2) one year of employment as a supervisor; and
   3. (3) a bachelor's degree, appropriate for the skills required, as determined by the Commission.
