1. (a) The commission adopts, by reference, a memorandum of understanding which establishes its responsibilities to institute a continuity of care program for offenders who are mentally impaired, elderly, physically disabled, terminally ill or significantly ill, as also adopted by the Texas Council on Offenders with Mental Impairments and the Texas Commission on Jail Standards. Copies of the memorandum of understanding may be obtained from the commission.
2. (b) The effective date of this section is March 1, 2001.
