- (a) The board will consider a written request for an indefinite medical emergency reprieve in instances such as terminal illness, total disability, or for needed medical care which cannot be provided by the medical facilities of the TDCJ.
- (b) A medical reprieve to private facilities, to a state hospital, to a mental hospital, or a tubercular hospital, or a medical reprieve for childbirth must be requested by the medical director of the TDCJ, and approved by the management of the TDCJ.
