The following words and terms, when used in this chapter, have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.

1. (1) Department--means the Texas Department of Public Safety.
2. (2) Director--means the director of the department or his designee.
3. (3) 28 CFR--means 28 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 23.1 et seq., as promulgated by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs.
