As used in rules adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Texas County and District Retirement System:

1. (1) Act - The provisions of the Government Code, Title 8, Subtitle F, as amended from time to time;
2. (2) Board - Board of trustees of TCDRS;
3. (3) Director - Executive Director of TCDRS;
4. (4) Document - Applications, beneficiary designations, administrative elections, petitions, claims, complaints, replies, statements, affidavits, subpoenas, or any other pleading under the Act or this title;
5. (5) Electronic filing and electronic transfer - These terms will have the meanings assigned under Section 845.116(a) of the Act;
6. (6) Employer - A subdivision, as defined in Section 841.001(17) of the Government Code participating in TCDRS;
7. (7) Internal Revenue Code - The Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, (and corresponding provisions of any subsequent federal tax laws) and the regulations thereunder.
8. (8) Medical board - Group of physicians designated by the Board in accordance with Section 845.204 of the Government Code;
9. (9) SOAH - State Office of Administrative Hearings;
10. (10) Retirement Plan or Plan - The plan established in accordance with the Act and qualified under Section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code;
11. (11) TCDRS or system - Texas County and District Retirement System;
12. (12) Proportionate retirement system - A public retirement system other than TCDRS that participates in the Proportionate Retirement Program described by this title and Chapter 803 of the Government Code; and
13. (13) Signature - Includes any symbol executed or adopted by a person with present intention to authenticate a writing, including an electronic signature.
