- (a) All newborns and other individuals under the age of 21 years who have been screened and have been found to be presumptively positive through the Newborn Screening Program (program) may be referred, if financially eligible, to the Texas Department of Health's (department's) Chronically Ill and Disabled Children's Services Program (CIDC).
- (b) An individual who is determined to be eligible for CIDC services shall be given approved services through that program, including special dietary formula for individuals who have phenylketonuria and homosystinuria through CIDC. An individual who does not meet that eligibility criteria shall be referred to the Newborn Screening Program for a determination of eligibility for Newborn Screening Program services.
