- (a) Purpose. The purpose of these sections is to establish regulations for the allocation of state funds appropriated for the Resident Physician Compensation Program. These funds are to be allocated as reimbursement to the medical schools for compensation given to eligible resident physicians attending eligible graduate medical education programs.
- (b) Scope. The scope of these sections is to describe the criteria and procedures to be used by the Texas Department of Health (department) in determining the medical schools eligible for funding under the Resident Physician Compensation Program and the funding allocation methods for each school based on the availability of funds.
- (c) Administration. The department shall allocate funds to eligible medical schools based on the procedures specified in these sections.
