1. (a) Self-contained is defined as a class in which one teacher teaches all or most subjects to one class of students.

2. (b) An assignment in a self-contained classroom for All General Subjects, Grades 6-8, is allowed with one of the following certificates.

   1. (1) Bilingual Generalist: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).
   2. (2) Bilingual Generalist: Grades 4-8 (English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies only).
   3. (3) Core Subjects: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).
   4. (4) Core Subjects: Grades 4-8 (English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies only).
   5. (5) Elementary--General.
   6. (6) Elementary--General (Grades 1-6) (Grade 6 only).
   7. (7) Elementary--General (Grades 1-8).
   8. (8) Elementary Early Childhood Education (Prekindergarten-Grade 6) (Grade 6 only).
   9. (9) Elementary Self-Contained (Grades 1-8).
   10. (10) English as a Second Language Generalist: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).
   11. (11) English as a Second Language Generalist: Grades 4-8 (English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies only).
   12. (12) Generalist: Early Childhood-Grade 6 (Grade 6 only).
   13. (13) Generalist: Grades 4-8 (English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies only).
   14. (14) Prekindergarten-Grade 6--General (Grade 6 only).
