Receipt of Letters and Documents

- (a) An employee of the secretary of state will stamp all letters or documents received in the Corporations Section with the date of receipt. The hour of receipt is not noted.
- (b) Mail is not received in the Corporations Section until it has been brought from the post office or otherwise hand-delivered to the Office of the Secretary of State. A postmark, a date generated on a letter or document solely as a result of its electronic transmission, or a date placed on a letter, document, or envelope by some person other than an employee of the secretary of state cannot be considered as the date of receipt.
- (c) Documents transmitted by fax after office hours are received the next business day or when actually received by an employee of the secretary of state.
