(C) No person shall use the titles or initials "graduate nurse," "G.N.," "professional nurse," "P.N.," "graduate practical nurse," "G.P.N.," "practical nurse," "P.N.," "trained nurse," "T.N.," or any other statement, title, or initials that would imply or represent to the public that the person is authorized to practice nursing in this state, except as follows:

1. (1) A person licensed under this chapter to practice nursing as a registered nurse may use that title and the initials "R.N.";
2. (2) A person licensed under this chapter to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse may use that title and the initials "L.P.N.";
3. (3) A person authorized under this chapter to practice nursing as a certified registered nurse anesthetist may use that title, the initials "C.R.N.A." or "N.A.," and any other title or initials approved by the board of nursing;
4. (4) A person authorized under this chapter to practice nursing as a clinical nurse specialist may use that title, the initials "C.N.S.," and any other title or initials approved by the board;
5. (5) A person authorized under this chapter to practice nursing as a certified nurse-midwife may use that title, the initials "C.N.M.," and any other title or initials approved by the board;
6. (6) A person authorized under this chapter to practice nursing as a certified nurse practitioner may use that title, the initials "C.N.P.," and any other title or initials approved by the board;
7. (7) A person authorized under this chapter to practice as a certified registered nurse anesthetist, clinical nurse specialist, certified nurse-midwife, or certified nurse practitioner may use the title "advanced practice registered nurse" or the initials "A.P.R.N."
