PURPOSE: This rule outlines the policy for reexamination of engineer-intern and professional engineering applicants who fail the examination(s). FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS AND PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION

1. (1) An applicant for enrollment as an engineer-intern failing to make a passing grade on the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals of Engineering Examination shall have unlimited opportunities to retake the examination so long as the applicant remains qualified to be examined on the date of the reexamination and providing the following criteria are met:

   1. (A) The applicant applies for reexamination on forms furnished by the board; and
   2. (B) The applicant pays the required reexamination fee; and
   3. (C) The applicant files his/her application for reexamination on or before the filing deadline established by the board; and
   4. (D) The applicant provides any additional information deemed pertinent by the board.

2. (2) An applicant for examination and licensure as a professional engineer failing to make a passing grade on the NCEES Principles and Practice of Engineering Examination shall have unlimited opportunities to retake the examination so long as the applicant remains qualified to be examined on the date of the reexamination and providing the following criteria are met:

   1. (A) The applicant applies for reexamination on forms furnished by the board; and
   2. (B) The applicant pays the required reexamination fee; and
   3. (C) The applicant files his/her application for reexamination on or before the filing deadline established by the board; and
   4. (D) The applicant provides any additional information deemed pertinent to the board.
