PURPOSE: The purpose of this rule is to comply with section 536.023, RSMo 1986 which requires each agency to adopt as a rule a description of its operation and the methods where the public may obtain information or make submissions or requests.
(1) The Division of Grain Inspection and Warehousing is a unit of the Department of Agriculture, state of Missouri.
- (A) The primary responsibility of the division, as a designed inspection agency by the United States Department of Agriculture is to provide the services pertaining to grain inspection as set out in The United States Grain Standards Act. As a disinterested third party, this division insures the buyer and seller of a fair market value of his/her grain. The duties consist of official sampling, inspection, weighing and chemical analysis of grain and official processed commodities supervision.
