PURPOSE: This rule clarifies the procedures for issuance of motorcycle or motortricycle license plates. (1) The department shall issue one (1) license plate to a motorcycle or motortricycle.

1. (2) The motorcycle or motortricycle license plate shall be renewable by the issuance of a tab. Motorcycle or motortricycle license plates expire on April 30 of the registration period.
2. (3) The registration fee for a motorcycle or motortricycle purchased or acquired in any given month, and for which the owner does not hold a motorcycle or motortricycle license plate to transfer, shall be prorated based upon the number of months from the date of operation until April of the expiration of the registration year.
