Scope.

  1. A. This chapter applies to programs organized to provide intensive, assertive mental health treatment and support services delivered by a multidisciplinary treatment team to an adult or a minor whose mental health treatment needs have not been met through routine, traditional outpatient mental health programs. Services are provided flexibly and in the various community settings determined by the needs of the individual.
  2. B. The purpose of mobile treatment services (MTS) is to enable the individual to:

    1. (1) Remain in the community, thus reducing the individual's admissions to emergency rooms, inpatient facilities, or detention centers; and
    2. (2) Achieve transition to less intensive outpatient services.
