Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to diminish or infringe upon the statutory authority, autonomy, or constitutional duties of:

1. (1) a county executive;
2. (2) a county fiscal body;
3. (3) an elected county officer (as defined in IC 36-2-2.9-3 );
4. (4) a judicial officer (as defined in IC 35-31.5-2-177.7 ), other circuit officers, or employees of a judicial or circuit officer;
5. (5) a prosecutor's office;
6. (6) a public defender's office;
7. (7) a community corrections advisory board established under IC 11-12-2-2 ; or
8. (8) a merit board established under IC 36-8-3.5 or IC 36-8-10-3 .
