Each juvenile referee appointed under section 14 of this chapter who:

1. (1) is appointed by the court to serve as a full-time referee; and

2. (2) does not practice law during the referee's term as referee;

   is entitled to receive an annual salary as provided in IC 33-38-5-7 .
