803 CUSTOMER RECEIPTS FOR SERVICE

803.1 At the end of each taxicab ride, the taxicab operator shall give a printed, meter-generated receipt that provides the following information:

1. (a) Operator's name;
2. (b) Identification card number;
3. (c) Vehicle tag number;
4. (d) Time and date;
5. (e) Amount of the fare; and
6. (f) Commission's complaint phone number.

803.2 In the case of messenger or parcel delivery service, the driver shall provide a written invoice describing the article(s) to be transported.

803.3 The operator shall retain a duplicate receipt for a period of one (1) year.

803.4 The operator shall not give a customer a non-meter generated receipt; except, if the meter malfunctions during the process of printing the receipt then the operator may give that customer a non-meter generated receipt at the customer's request. The non-meter generated receipt must include all information required in §803.1 and must be signed, legibly, by the driver.

803.5 The exception in § 803.4 does not relieve the operator of complying with the requirements that meters must be operational and have paper and ink at all times. The operator must immediately proceed to an authorized meter repair shop and have the meter repaired.
