D.C. Code § 7-2509.03

Expiration and renewal of licenses.

  1. (a) A license shall expire no later than 2 years after the date of issuance unless revoked by the Chief or renewed pursuant to this subchapter.

  2. (b)

    1. (1) A license shall be eligible for renewal if:

      1. (A) The licensee continues to meet the requirements of § 22-4506 and § 7-2509.02, except that:

        1. (i) With regard to § 7-2509.02(a)(4), only 4 hours of such training shall be required for renewal; and
        2. (ii) With regard to § 7-2509.02(a)(5), the licensee shall provide proof of 2 hours of range practice within the previous 12 months; and
      2. (B) The licensee follows any procedures the Chief may establish by rule.
    2. (2) Timely renewal shall be the responsibility of the licensee, pursuant to any procedures the Chief may establish by rule.
  3. (c) Any person whose renewal application has been denied may, within 15 days after the date of the notice of denial, appeal to the Office of Administrative Hearings pursuant to § 7-2509.08.

Applicability

Section 7 of D.C. Act 25-138 provided that the amendments made to this section by D.C. Act 25-138 shall apply as of October 1, 2023. D.C. Act 25-138 will expire before that date.

Editor's Notes

Section 6 of D.C. Law 25-199 provided that the Mayor shall provide for the orderly transfer of all records of pending and adjudicated appeals of the Concealed Pistol Licensing Review Board to the Office of Administrative Hearings.

Section 7 of D.C. Law 25-199 provided that amends to section by D.C. Law 25-199 act shall apply as of October 1, 2023.
