CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM GRANTS
The State Superintendent of Public Instruction promulgates these rules pursuant to W.S. 21-12-105(g).
(a) A grant awarded under this section shall be for a period of two (2) years and shall not exceed one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000.00) for the first year of demonstration project planning, and not more than two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00) for project implementation in year two (2) of the project grant. No two-year grant shall exceed $350,000.
(b) Grants under this chapter are available only to school districts to fund curricular development and program design costs, employ certified teachers to provide course instruction and to purchase equipment and supplies necessary for program delivery.
(c) Grant awardees shall submit to the Department a final activities report no later than June 30 of the final fiscal year of the grant cycle. The activities report shall include amounts of grant funds that the awardee spent on approved educational program improvement or new program implementation.
(d) Grant awards are limited by available funding.
(e) The department may monitor any grant awardee at any time during the grant term.
(f) Any school district receiving funds under W.S. 21-13-337 for career and technical supplies, materials and equipment shall be ineligible to receive a grant under this chapter for the period the district receives funds under W.S. 21-13-337.
(a) Applicants shall submit an application no later than June 30th of each year in which grants are awarded. The Department shall inform applicants of competitive grant award results no later than August 15th following the grant application. Applicants shall apply by submitting the following:
(i) An application for the relevant grant year provided by the Department; (ii) Documentation describing the proposed career and technical education program and showing that the program is needed;
(iii) Labor market information detailing the need for instruction in the proposed program of study;
(iv) The purposes and plan for funds granted under this chapter;
(v) Curriculum outlines for each course composing the proposed program of study; and
(vi) Assurances from the applicant that any award shall be used to fund curricular development and program design costs, employ Wyoming certified teachers to provide course instruction during the introductory year, and to fund initial purchases of equipment and supplies necessary for program delivery.
