Chapter 8: Renewal of Licenses and Certificates

(a) Licenses and certificates expire one year after date of issuance. The Board shall mail a renewal notice to individuals at their address of record no later than thirty (30) days prior to the expiration date.
(b) A renewal card shall be issued bearing the individual's name, license or certificate number, and expiration date upon receipt of the renewal fee in the amount defined in the current fee table. The renewal fee must be postmarked no later than the expiration date in order to meet the renewal deadline without penalty.
(c) Renewals postmarked after the expiration date of a license or certificate will be assessed a late fee in addition to the renewal fee.
(d) Licenses and certificates shall be considered lapsed 30 days following expiration and the individual shall no longer be licensed or certified to practice.
(e) Failure to receive notice from the Board for renewal of a license or certificate does not excuse an individual from the requirements for renewal under the Act and this rule.
(f) To restore lapsed privileges, within one year of the date of license expiration, the individual shall submit all accrued renewal fees, an application for renewal of lapsed license, and the restoration of lapsed license fee.
(a) License and certificate holders must provide documentation of having completed 30 hours of continuing education every two (2) years on their renewal date.
(b) Individuals licensed or certified to practice before December 31, 1996 must provide documentation of having completed 30 hours of continuing education hours between January 1, 1995, and their renewal date in 1998.
(c) Individuals licensed or certified to practice after December 31, 1996 must provide documentation of having completed 15 hours of continuing education between January 1, 1995 and their renewal date in 1998.
(d) These hours can be earned in three ways:
(i) Up to 20 contact hours can be earned by completing designated activities reviewed and approved by the Wyoming Psychological Association or the Wyoming
School Psychology Association for continuing education credit.
(ii) (B) Up to 30 contact hours can be earned by completing programs offered by sponsors approved by the American Psychological Association or the National Association of School Psychologists.
(iii) (C) A maximum of 10 hours can be earned from A.P.A. or N.A.S.P. home study courses.
(e) It is the licensee or certificate holder’s responsibility to obtain from the continuing education activity sponsor the necessary documentation of hours earned and to submit such documentation to the Board. Upon receipt the Board will verify continuing education hours documentation. Failure to meet this requirement or to provide adequate documentation may result in suspension and/or disciplinary action, including revocation of license or certificate.
Section 3. Change of Name and/or Address. It is the responsibility of the individual to inform the Board in writing of any change in legal name, mailing address, or telephone number.
Section 4. Verification of Licensure or Certification to Another Jurisdiction. Upon request for written verification of licensure or certification and the required verification fee, the Board shall provide the information in writing to the jurisdiction specified by the individual.
(a) Upon receipt of the individual’s notarized statement verifying that the wall document was lost, stolen, or destroyed and payment of the replacement fee, the Board shall issue a replacement wall document.
(b) Upon receipt of the individual’s legal notice of a legal name change, surrender of the original document, and payment of the replacement document fee, the Board shall issue a replacement document in the individual’s new name.
