Chapter 1

General Provisions

Section 1. Authority. The Board is created by W.S. 33-45-101 through 33-45-112, herein after referred to as the Act. The Board is authorized under the Act, specifically W.S. 33-45-106(a)(ii), the Wyoming Administrative Procedure Act (W.S. 16-3-101, et seq.), specifically W.S. 16-3-103(j), and W.S. 33-1-302(a) to promulgate rules.

Section 2. Terms Defined by Statute. Terms defined in W.S. 33-45-101 through 33-45-112 shall have the same meanings when used in these regulations unless the context or subject matter clearly requires a different interpretation.

Section 3. Terms Defined Herein. As used in these regulations, the following terms shall have the following meanings unless the context or subject matter clearly requires a different interpretation.

1. (a) "BOC" means the Board of Certification for Athletic Training.
2. (b) "CAATE" means the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education.
3. (c) "ECC" means Emergency Cardiac Care.
4. (d) "Employment-Related Physical Activity" means a task that requires participation or repetitive motion to complete normal job duties.
5. (e) "NATA" means the National Athletic Trainers Association.
6. (f) "Official" means issued by and under the original seal of the issuing agency.
7. (g) "Physically Active Occupation" means a job that requires participation or repetitive motion comparable to the strength, agility, flexibility, range of motion, speed or stamina.

Section 4. Board Office. The Board Office is located at 2001 Capitol Ave., Room 127, Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Section 5. Annual Regular Board Meeting. The Board shall have a regular meeting annually on the third Wednesday in April at the Board Office beginning at 10:00 a.m. If the meeting is not held at the Board Office, it will be held via teleconference or video conference at that time.

Section 6. Chairperson. The chairperson of the board shall be elected annually, by a majority vote of the Board.

Section 7. Incorporation by Reference.

(a) For these rules incorporated by reference:

(i) The Board has determined that incorporation of the full text in these rules would be cumbersome or inefficient given the length or nature of the rules;

(ii) The incorporation by reference does not include any later amendments or editions of the incorporated matter beyond the applicable date identified in subsection (a) of this section; and

(iii) The incorporated rules are maintained at the Board office and are available at athletictraining.wyo.gov.

(b) Each rule incorporated by reference is further identified as follows:

(i) Chapter 2 - Uniform Procedures, Fees, Costs and Charges for Inspecting, Copying and Producing Public Records adopted by the Department of Administration and Information and effective on September 6, 2016, found at http://athletictraining.wyo.gov.
