CHAPTER VIII

MARRIAGE REGISTRATION

Section 1. County Clerk's Responsibility. The county clerk or his designated representative shall:

1. (a) Obtain the information required for the completion of the certificate with the exception of that regarding the ceremony;
2. (b) Secure the signatures of the people to be married on the certificate;
3. (c) Review the certificate when it is returned to him following the ceremony for completeness and accuracy;
4. (d) Forward all certificates returned to him to he State Registrar by the tenth of the following month.

Section 2. Officiant's Responsibility. The person performing the marriage ceremony shall:

1. (a) Enter the information regarding the ceremony on the certificate;
2. (b) Sign the certificate and obtain the signatures and addresses of the two witnesses to the ceremony;
3. (c) Return the certificate to the county clerk who issued the license within ten (10) days of the ceremony.
