CHAPTER 2

Section 1. Definitions.

1. (a) As used in these rules:

   1. (i) “Applicant” means the person seeking a concealed firearm permit under W.S. 6-8- 104;
   2. (ii) “Attorney General” means the Attorney General of the State of Wyoming;
   3. (iii) “Director” means the Director of the Division of Criminal Investigation within the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Wyoming as defined by W.S. 9-1-611;.
   4. (iv) “Division” means the Division of Criminal Investigation within the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Wyoming as defined by W.S. 9-1-611;
   5. (v) “Documentary evidence” means evidence furnished by written instruments, inscriptions, documents of any kind;
   6. (vi) “Peace officer” means any law enforcement officer as defined by W.S. 7-2-101(a)(iv);
   7. (vii) “Permit” means the concealed firearm permit which can be issued under the authority of W.S. 6-8-104;
   8. (viii) “Permittee” means the holder of a concealed firearm permit;
   9. (ix) “Resident” means a lawful resident of the United States who has been a resident of Wyoming for not less than six months prior to filing the application for a permit. The Wyoming residency requirement shall not apply to applicants who at the time of application hold a valid permit from a state agency in another state authorizing them to carry a concealed weapon;
   10. (x) “Sheriff” means any duly qualified and acting Sheriff or his Undersheriff or Deputy to whom the Sheriff’s duties hereunder may have been delegated by the Sheriff;
   11. (xi) “Social Security Number” means the social security number assigned by the Social Security Administration to the applicant, or other tracking and identification numbers or letters deemed appropriate by the Division, to be placed on concealed firearm permits and applications for such permits;
   12. (xii) “State” means any state or territory of the United States of America and the District of Columbia;
   13. (xiii) “Wyoming driver’s license” means a driver’s license issued by the State of Wyoming Department of Revenue which has not expired as indicated by the expiration date on the license;
   14. (xiv) “Wyoming driver’s license number” means the number assigned by the Wyoming Department of Transportation to all persons issued Wyoming driver’s licenses, or other tracking and identification numbers or letters deemed appropriate by the Wyoming Department of Transportation to be placed upon concealed firearm permits when the applicant does not have a Wyoming driver’s license;
   15. (xv) The singular includes the plural, the plural the singular, and the masculine the feminine or neuter when consistent with the intent of these rules and necessary to effect their purpose.
