W. Va. Code § 30-8-14
Prescriptive authority.
(a) A licensee may prescribe:
- (1) Topical pharmaceutical agents;
- (2) oral pharmaceutical agents that are included in the drug formulary established by the board pursuant to section six of this article or new drugs or new drug indications added by a decision of the board; and (3) contact lenses that contain and deliver pharmaceutical agents that have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration as a drug.
(b) An applicant must:
- (1) Submit a completed application;
- (2) Pay the appropriate fee;
- (3) Show proof of current liability insurance coverage;
- (4) Complete the board required training;
- (5) Pass an examination; and
- (6) Complete any other criteria the board may establish by rule.
