1. (1) An employee may choose to take any of the following types of leave under these rules:

   1. (a) Unpaid leave; or
   2. (b) Paid leave, including sick leave and other paid time off; or
   3. (c) Compensatory time.

2. (2) An employee may choose to take leave, whether unpaid or paid, in any manner as follows:

   1. (a) Intermittent leave; or
   2. (b) Leave on a reduced work schedule; or
   3. (c) In a single block of time.
