1. (1) A fertigation application must be visually inspected at least once every 24 hours unless product characteristics require a more frequent interval.

2. (2) A fertigation system capable of being monitored by the operator from a remote location shall not require visual inspection every 24 hours if it is utilizing the following capabilities:

   1. (a) Automatically notifies the operator of the fertilizer flow rate at least once every 24 hours or more frequently as required by the location or product characteristics;
   2. (b) Automatically notifies the operator in the event of any power failure, equipment shutdown, or other fault affecting fertigation; and
   3. (c) Allows the operator to shut down the fertigation equipment from their location.
3. (3) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, a fertigation application must be continuously monitored whenever sensitive areas are at risk of being exposed to drift, runoff, or overspray.
