1. (1) After hearing the court's instructions and arguments of counsel, the jury shall retire for deliberation.

2. (2) An officer shall:

   1. (a) be sworn to keep the jury together in some private and convenient place;
   2. (b) not permit any person to speak to or communicate with the jury;

   3. (c) not communicate with the jury except:

      1. (i) upon the order of the court; or
      2. (ii) to ask the jury whether the jury has agreed on a verdict; and
   4. (d) return the jury to court when the jury has agreed and the court has so ordered, or when otherwise ordered by the court.
