Utah Code Ann. § 76-8-415

Damaging or removing a monument of an official survey.

  1. (1) Terms defined in Sections 76-1-101.5 and 76-8-101 apply to this section.
  2. (2) An actor commits damaging or removing a monument of an official survey if the actor willfully injures, defaces, or removes a signal, monument, building, or appurtenance thereto, placed, erected, or used by persons engaged in the United States or state survey.
  3. (3) A violation of Subsection (2) is a class B misdemeanor.
