1. (1)

   1. (a) An approved apprenticeship shall be conducted by a supervisor who:

      1. (i) is licensed under this chapter as an instructor in the discipline of the apprenticeship; and
      2. (ii) provides one-on-one direct supervision of the apprentice during the apprenticeship program.
   2. (b) An apprenticeship supervisor may not provide direct supervision to more than two apprentices during the apprenticeship program.

2. (2) An individual seeking a license or permit through an approved apprenticeship under this chapter shall:

   1. (a) register with the division before beginning the training requirements by:

      1. (i) submitting a form prescribed by the division, which includes the name of the licensed instructor supervisor; and
      2. (ii) paying a fee determined by the division under Section 63J-1-504;
   2. (b) complete the apprenticeship within two years of the date on which the division approves the registration; and
   3. (c) notify the division within 30 days if the licensed instructor supervisor changes after the registration is approved by the division.

3. (3) An individual seeking a license or permit through an approved apprenticeship under this chapter shall complete a minimum of:

   1. (a) 1,250 apprenticeship hours for a cosmetology license;
   2. (b) 1,200 apprenticeship hours for a master esthetics license;

   3. (c) 1,000 apprenticeship hours for:

      1. (i) a master barber license; or
      2. (ii) a master hair design license;
   4. (d) 600 apprenticeship hours for an electrology license;
   5. (e) 300 apprenticeship hours for a nail technology license;
   6. (f) 270 apprenticeship hours for an eyelash and eyebrow technology license;
   7. (g) 260 apprenticeship hours for a chemical hair services permit;
   8. (h) 200 apprenticeship hours for a basic esthetics permit;
   9. (i) 150 apprenticeship hours for a haircutting permit;
   10. (j) 130 apprenticeship hours for a barbering permit; or
   11. (k) 50 apprenticeship hours for a facial hair removal permit.
