1. (1) It is the purpose of this chapter to provide a meat and poultry inspection program in the state at least equal to the programs imposed under the:

   1. (a) Federal Meat Inspection Act, 21 U.S.C. Sec. 601 et seq.;
   2. (b) Poultry Products Inspection Act, 21 U.S.C. Sec. 451 et seq.;
   3. (c) Humane Slaughter Act, 7 U.S.C. Sec. 1901 et seq.; and
   4. (d) the Egg Product Inspection Act, 21 U.S.C. 1031 et seq.
2. (2) The commissioner shall administer and enforce this chapter to accomplish the purpose described in Subsection (1).
