(1)

1. (a) The division shall administer the codes adopted or approved under Section 15A-1-204 pursuant to this chapter.

2. (b) Notwithstanding Subsection (1)(a), the division has no responsibility to:

   1. (i) conduct inspections to determine compliance with the codes;
   2. (ii) issue permits; or
   3. (iii) assess building permit fees.

(2) As part of the administration of the codes, the division shall:

1. (a) comply with Section 15A-1-206;
2. (b) schedule appropriate hearings;

3. (c) maintain and publish for reference:

   1. (i) the current State Construction Code; and
   2. (ii) any approved code; and
4. (d) publish the opinions of the commission with respect to interpretation and application of the codes.
