The Office of Inspector General shall procure and rely upon the services of an independent external auditor(s) to audit the fiscal year 2020 and subsequent financial statements of the Department of Housing and Urban Development including the financial statements of the Federal Housing Administration and the Government National Mortgage Association.

Section was enacted as part of the Department of Housing andUrban Development Appropriations Act, 2020, and also as part of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2020, and the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2020, and not as part of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Act which comprises this chapter.
