As used in sections 58a–1 to 58a–3 of this title, the term—

1. (1) “Sergeant at Arms” means the Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper of the United States Senate; and
2. (2) “user” means any Senator, Officer of the Senate, Committee, office, or entity provided telephone equipment and services by the Sergeant at Arms.

Effective Date

Pub. L. 100–123, § 4, Oct. 5, 1987, 101 Stat. 795, provided that:

“This Act [enacting this section and sections 58a–2 and 58a–3 of this title] shall take effect on

October 1, 1987.”
