The following words and terms, when used in this subchapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.

1. (1) Bicycle Advisory Committee--The committee, established under §1.85 of this title (relating to department advisory committees), that advises the commission concerning bicycle issues.
2. (2) Department--The Texas Department of Transportation.
3. (3) District--One of 25 geographical areas, managed by a district engineer, in which the department conducts its primary work activities.
4. (4) District bicycle coordinator--A person designated by the department to coordinate highway projects and policies of the department that might affect bicycle use on the state highway system at the district level.
5. (5) District Engineer--The chief administrative officer in charge of a district of the department.
6. (6) State bicycle coordinator--A person designated by the department to coordinate highway projects and policies of the department that might affect bicycle use on the state highway system at the state level.
