1. (a) Account information system. The department will develop an account information reporting system for tracking money deposited to the credit of each separate account and subaccount of the state highway fund, including subaccounts for toll projects required under Transportation Code, Chapter 228. The account information will include:

   1. (1) the source and amount of the deposited funds;
   2. (2) the amount and general type or purpose of expenditure as described in the comptroller's statewide accounting system; and
   3. (3) the balance credited to each account and subaccount.
2. (b) Updates. The department will update the account information reporting system at least quarterly.
