1. (a) To request approval of the abandonment of a segment of rail line with respect to which state funds have been loaned or granted, a district shall submit an application to the director.

2. (b) An application shall be submitted no later than 45 days after the filing of a notice under 49 C.F.R. §1152.20 and shall include a copy of:

   1. (1) documentation under which the district obtained state funds for the rail line;
   2. (2) the notice relating to the rail line;
   3. (3) the federal application relating to the rail line; and
   4. (4) documentation evidencing compliance with the requirements of 49 C.F.R. §1152.20.
