The following words and terms, when used in this chapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.
- (1) Anniversary date--January 1 of each year.
- (2) Certificate of training--Certificate provided to officers who earn a minimum number of credit hours each year for attending training conferences.
- (3) Commission--The Texas Veterans Commission.
- (4) Credit hour--Unit of measuring credit earned for attending a given number of classroom periods at a commission training conference.
- (5) Initial training--Introductory training provided to newly appointed officers.
- (6) Officer--Veterans county service officer or assistant veterans county service officer appointed by a county commissioners court.
- (7) Training conference--Classroom training sponsored and conducted by the commission.
