The following words and terms, when used in these sections, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.

1. (1) Commission--Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC).
2. (2) Executive director--The executive director of the commission.
3. (3) Recognized laboratory--A laboratory recognized by the executive director for purposes of this chapter.
4. (4) USDA, APHIS, VS--The United States Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Veterinary Services.

5. (5) Veterinary biologics--

   1. (A) viruses, serums, toxins, and analogous products of natural or synthetic origin;
   2. (B) products prepared from any type of genetic engineering, such as diagnostics, antitoxins, vaccines, live microorganisms, and killed microorganisms; and
   3. (C) the antigenic or immunizing components of microorganisms, intended for use in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of diseases in animals.
