1. (a) For purposes of this subchapter, the following citrus tree varieties are designated as mandatory for citrus budwood certification:

   1. (1) Grapefruits--"Rio Red";
   2. (2) Valencia oranges--"Standard", "Olinda";
   3. (3) Navel oranges--"N-33";
   4. (4) Other oranges--"Marrs", "Pineapple";
   5. (5) Lemons--"Meyer";
   6. (6) Limes--"Thorny Mexican", "Thornless Mexican";
2. (b) Mandatory variety trees produced in Texas prior to September 1, 2006, are exempt from the requirements of this section.
