- (a) Except as provided by subsection (b) of this section, state-owned vehicles under the department's control shall be assigned to the department's motor vehicle pool and made available for use as needed.
- (b) If a state-owned vehicle under the department's control is assigned to an individual employee on a regular basis, then the head of the department's Support Services Department, or his or her designee, must document in writing that the assignment and use of the vehicle is critical to the department's needs and mission. The written documentation must be maintained by the Support Services Department.
