All corridors and passages to exits, the exits themselves, and other means of egress shall be continuously illuminated at all points with not less than 1.0 foot candle measured at the floor, and shall be so arranged that the failure of any lighting unit or bulb will not leave any area in darkness. Discharging stairways shall be continuously illuminated at all points with not less that 10 foot candle measured at the floor, and shall be so arranged that the failure of any lighting unit or bulb will not leave any area in darkness.
