- (a) The commission shall issue a contract jailer license to a person who meets all the minimum standards for jailer licensure.
- (b) The commission shall issue a temporary contract jailer license to a person who meets all the minimum standards for licensure except for training and testing. A temporary contract jailer license expires 12 months from the original certification date, and may not be reissued.
(c) A contract jailer license expires 24 months from the date of original issuance and may be renewed upon expiration, unless the license has been revoked, is currently suspended, or has been voluntarily surrendered. To qualify for renewal of a license a contract jailer must:
- (1) submit a completed contract jailer license renewal application prescribed by the commission, including documentation that the licensee has completed the required continuing education training within the preceding training cycle and
- (2) pay any required fee.
- (d) The effective date of this section is March 1, 2001.
